Meet Lisa

Hi and Welcome! I am the mom of four children ages 24, 21, 19, and 17, a wife, and a full-time college professor. The inspiration for this group came to me as I chatted with other moms that had sent children off to college, attended graduations, moved them into apartments of their own in places near and far. Everyone I talked to expressed a similar emotion of happiness to watch her child transition to a more independent world yet there was a little bit of trepidation as she went back to her own relatively quiet house. 

We chatted about creating a life that focused on ourselves--new hobbies, new friends, new social outings--ideas that we put on the back-burner during the years of carpools, sports games, recitals, homework, and playdates. 

This ideas was a throwback to the years when I found my new mom friends through MOPS and Mother's Exchange--both Mom's groups that provide me my much-needed support of new parenting and young moms.  Some of those amazing women are still my closest friends. 

This group provides less support for the parenting aspect of your adult children and more about focus on broadening our lives as we proceed to the next stage. I want this conglomerate of women to connect on multiple levels with the goal to be a widening of our sphere through connections made at our speakers gatherings, on outings, during new hobby nights and at social events.
